- Preheat the oven to 170 degrees.
- Make sure the Echte Boter is at room temperature.
- Mix the butter, caster sugar, salt, lemon zest, milk, baking soda and flour together and knead it into a shortcrust / biscuit dough.
- Roll out the dough to about 3mm thickness.
- Cut out the dough with a special wreath-shaped cutter or other Christmas biscuit shape.
- Place the slices on baking paper.
- Brush well with the beaten egg.
- Sprinkle with the flaked almond and sugar.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 170 degrees for about 10-12 minutes.
- Remove the biscuits from the oven and let them cool.
