Ingredients

For the dough
  • 200 grams plain flour
  • 10 grams baking powder
  • 100 grams porridge oats
  • 130 grams light brown caster sugar
  • 215 grams unsalted Echte Boter (melted)
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the filling
  • 4 apples (cut into small cubes)
  • 50 grams granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves

  • Baking tin (23 cm x 23 cm square)

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, oatmeal, sugar, melted butter, salt and vanilla extract. Set aside.
  3. Mix the diced apple with the granulated sugar, cinnamon and cloves.
  4. Line the baking tin with baking paper and pour half of the crumble mix evenly into the tin, pressing well. Cover with the apple mixture and spread the other half of the mixture on top. Press lightly.
  5. Bake for 1 hour, until the top is golden-brown, and the apples are cooked through.
  6. When cooled cut into 16 portions.
