Cheese puffs with Echte Cheese Spread

Echte Smeerkaas broodjes

Ingredients

Makes 12 puffs
  • 6 squares (10x10 cm) of pre-rolled puff pastry, cold
  • 1 tub of Echte Cheese Spread, natural 20+ or sambal 20+
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds

Preparation time 20 minutes

Method

Tip: Keep the puff pastry cold. This way you can close the seam properly so that the cheese spread does not leak during baking.

  1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
  2. Cut the puff pastry slices in half. Place a generous teaspoon of Echte Cheese Spread on one half of each strip of pastry and fold closed. Press the edges with a fork so that they are properly closed. Repeat with the rest.
  3. Beat the egg and brush over the top of the puff pastry.
  4. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and bake the cheese puffs in the oven for 10 to 12 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
  5. Serve with a dip of your choice.
