Real French Toast

Ingredients

  • 4 slices (brioche) bread
  • 200 ml full fat milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 sachet vanilla sugar
  • Echte Boter
  • cinnamon
  • icing sugar
  • your favourite fresh fruit

Method

  1. Put milk, egg, sugar and cinnamon (to taste) in a bowl and mix
  2. Add the butter to a frying pan and warm till the butter melts
  3. Put the pan on a medium heat
  4. Dip the bread in the egg mixture
  5. Gently fry the egg-dipped bread till golden brown
  6. Turn the bread now and again
  7. Whilst the French Toast is frying finely slice the fruit
  8. As soon as the French Toast is ready place it on a plate
  9. Serve the fruit with the French Toast
  10. Finish with a dusting of icing sugar
